My personal signpost is respect. As a hair and makeup artist, Peggy Kurka says: “I can only be as good as the people I surround myself with. I don’t work alone; I work in a team. Because of this, we are dependent on each other.”
Peggy Kurka is a international Hair and Makeup Artist and Cultural Adviser with an instinct for beauty, cultural nuance and the evolving language of fashion. Her perspective is shaped by a life spent moving between different worlds. Born to a mixed-heritage family in East Berlin, she developed an early awareness of identity, representation and the gaze. Her beginnings as a model at the Fashion Institute, followed by work in fashion film and theater, gave her a unique understanding of both image-making and the people behind it.
Inspired by the radical simplicity and modernity of designers such as Jil Sander, Kurka moved to London and immersed herself in the international fashion landscape, later working across Paris and Berlin. These experiences continue to inform her approach: intuitive yet precise, culturally aware and always connected to the zeitgeist.
Alongside her work as a Hair and Makeup Artist, Kurka brings this perspective to her role as a Cultural Adviser. She works with an understanding that beauty is never purely aesthetic; it reflects identity, history, and the world we live in.
Her work is defined by a distinctive sophistication and an intelligent approach to beauty: contemporary and always in dialogue with culture.
